Where to Eat

English: Shared Futures is not a catered conference. However, refreshments of soft drinks and pastries will be supplied throughout. Delicious and affordable food and drink is also available at the The Grove, which is situated in the atrium of the main conference venue, and will be open throughout the conference. The Grove will host our Friday wine reception and turns into a bar on Saturday night for our fringe finale!

If you fancy a wander down Oxford road for lunch, or want somewhere to dine in the evening in the city centre, then Manchester is fast establishing itself as one of the UK’s most exciting food destinations. It has a thriving local and international food culture with an array of restaurants, cafes, gastropubs, takeaways and pubs in easy access of the conference venues and events. 

If you also fancy participating in fine dining, afternoon tea or humble street food, then Greater Manchester has numerous places to suit any mood or palate.  We recommend that you use Manchester’s Where Eat Website to look for restaurants in the area where you are staying. The closest vegan restaurant to the conference is The Eighth Day Café, just opposite the All Saints Park.

Gluten Free
Many of Manchester’s food venues now offer gluten free options and we recommend asking restaurant staff, as many are happy to adapt menu choices or offer alternatives. For quicker options during the day, the two closest restaurants with gluten free options are The Eighth Day Café and Mowgli Indian Street Food, located on University Green. There is also a new gluten free dessert shop, Icestone Gelato, just  opposite All Saints Park.
